I noticed the same clearing bug.

You're referring to the Mozilla Clearing Bug that liorean mentioned, right?

the problem I have is that clear: both seems to be effected by elements outside the containing div. So it maybe related and it also looks like a bug to me. But I'm not sure yet. More detail will follow when I have time to look at it.
